Free technical SEO checker

A technical SEO checker reads a page the way Google's crawler does and tests the basics that decide whether it can be found and indexed: the status code, redirects, HTTPS, canonical tag, robots.txt, sitemap, title, description, headings, mobile viewport and image alt text. Enter a URL to see what passes and what to fix first.

What this tool checks

Why it matters

Content and links only help once a page can be crawled and indexed. One noindex tag, a blocked path in robots.txt or a broken redirect can hide a page from search entirely, and these mistakes often arrive with a theme update or a migration without anyone noticing.

How to fix what it finds

  1. Fix anything marked Fail first; those block indexing or ranking outright.
  2. Point internal links straight at final URLs so no page sits behind a redirect.
  3. Give every indexable page a self-referencing canonical and list it in your sitemap.
  4. Rewrite titles to 30 to 60 characters with the main keyword near the start.

Technical SEO checker: common questions

Does this checker run JavaScript?

No. It reads the HTML your server sends, which is what most crawlers see on the first request. If key content only appears after JavaScript runs, that is worth fixing, because many AI crawlers never run it.

Is one page enough to judge my whole site?

It shows the issues on that page and the site-wide files it depends on, such as robots.txt and the sitemap. To scan every page and fix issues automatically, RankMesh runs a full site audit each week.

What is a good score?

Aim for 90 or above with no failed checks. A warning is worth fixing but rarely blocks ranking on its own; a failed check usually does.

Why does my page show a redirect warning?

The address you entered redirected before reaching the page. One redirect is normal for http to https, but links inside your site should point at the final URL so crawlers do not waste requests.
