Why it matters
AI assistants can only cite pages they are allowed to read and can understand. Blocking search crawlers, hiding content behind JavaScript or leaving your brand undefined in schema keeps you out of AI answers even when you rank on Google.
How to fix what it finds
- Allow OAI-SearchBot, ChatGPT-User, PerplexityBot and Claude-SearchBot in robots.txt.
- Publish an llms.txt that summarises who you are and links your key pages.
- Add Organization JSON-LD with name, logo and sameAs links to your profiles.
- Write short paragraphs that define terms or state facts with their source.

GEO checker: common questions
That is a business choice. Blocking training crawlers such as GPTBot or CCBot does not remove you from AI search answers; blocking search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot or PerplexityBot does. This checker treats the two differently.
It is a young, voluntary standard. It costs little to publish and gives AI tools a clean map of your site, but it is not a ranking switch. Crawler access, schema and citable content matter more.
